Talk Title

Innovation is F…?

Talk overview

A quick dive into how to innovate effectively and with meaning to drive; fame, fortune, footsteps and have fun whilst you’re at it.

1) What do you think attendees will get out of your talk? How to address using technology in the right way to innovative your brand and /or business so it sufficiently enhances what you do rather than use it as a ‘jazz hands’ distraction and why doing this drives results.

2) How did you get into your field? A bit of a winding story but in short: I started as a graphic designer but thought print was limiting so taught myself to code which gave me the ability to marry creativity and tech from very early on. Then I got bored of people telling me to make the logo bigger and use all the white space up so switched to planning as the 7th digital member of a 300 strong agency, I was lucky enough to have a great mentor who steered me on my path from there…

3) What advice would you give to someone new to the industry? It’s cut throat, if you don’t do whatever it takes someone else will, so be the best you can be and don’t quit.

4) What do you think is going to be the big “Thing” this year with the technology sector? Convergence: Of clicks and bricks, of AI and everything, of robotics and automation, of physical and human. I could carry on…

5) Who inspires you? Asides the brilliantly talented people I work with every day, I hark back to some legends, my top two are Arthur C. Clarke who famously quoted ‘Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic’ and Walt Disney who of a similar mind-set said ‘If you can dream it, you can achieve it’. I remind myself of this every time I come across doubt.
